Bubbles
I've had this canvas for almost a year but had no drive to do anything with it. Last week I was doodling bubbles all over my power point print out in class, and the mindless repetition it provided was pretty nice. So, this lead me to begin working the doodles out on a larger scale.
This is nowhere near done, and I will most certainly over-work it...as I do with most pieces. But I wanted to update the progress I made last night. Perhaps I will get more canvases and explore further repetitive mark making processes. Monday, April 25, 2011

X-Ray Teeth
I wasn't ever going to share this, but I think it is too funny and it reminds me of home.

Slow

Someday I will finish some of the many things I am currently working on every now and then. Perhaps scheduled crafting time is in order. This is something I am close to finishing, although it just looks white. It is cross-stitched white on white lettering. I'm kind of in love with it.Also, it's going in a white frame eventually.

Heat Wave

It is insanely hot in Baltimore right now, and my house has no AC. It is making me a little crazy. I haven't made art in awhile so I decided to do some brainless embroideries to get myself reacquainted. The series I am working on (started yesterday) is just quotes from movies I like. More specifically- my favorite identifiable line from any specific film. The first one I did is from [500] Days of Summer and is pictured below, while the second is from Rushmore. As always, I found the back of the stitches quite interesting. I'm planning on doing some more of these until ideas start flowing.

1/2 Marathon
This is not art related, but you all need to visit my fundraising site for my Team in Training 1/2 marathon. I am raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and need as much help as I can get! Training is progressing, I have never been a runner or much of an athlete...but I'm getting better. =]
